I was 8 years old when the Sydney Monorail was demolished. I remember seeing it when I would visit the city when I was little and always wanted to go on it, a train in the sky. Then one day it was just gone (I was never able to go on it), almost no trace left behind and no one talked about it. I assumed my memory was a dream because it seemed too weird and imaginative to have been true.

Looking through the Powerhouse archive I found models of the Monorail, brochures, travel cards and photos of people standing in front of it, even protest badges against it. This archive made the monorail real for me again and I also found out that some of the stations are still standing.

So I went on a journey of discovery and created a series of speculative merchandise for a world that loves the Sydney Monorail, using free mockups to visualise the products. I also imagine this project progressing into an actual popup shop, making this merchandise in reality to spread awareness about the Monorail, and the publication would be a catalog of that.
